Hey there, it's me again! Today, I want to show you a simple and quick way to add some fantastic texture to short hair. The style I will be going off is a swept-over hairstyle on our model Sean, and we'll be using three fantastic products to achieve this look.
Step 1: The Sea Salt Spray
As with most of my tutorials, we begin with the basics. Today, we're starting with the sea salt spray from Poseidon Hair. To start, I'm going to apply about five squirts of the sea salt spray onto Sean's hair. Make sure to distribute it evenly. We're going to use a scrunching motion to add as much texture as possible. Start from the back and work your way to the front. Sean wants that classic swept-over style, so make sure you get it just right. After this, we're going to let it dry.
Step 2: The Grooming Clay
Alright, Sean's hair is dry, and it's time to keep that style locked in place. For this, we're going to use some grooming clay from Poseidon Hair. Take about that much - a small amount - and rub it between your palms. For short hair like Sean's, using your fingers should do the trick. If you have longer hair like mine, you can use your whole hand. Starting from the back again, scrunch your hair, working your way to the front. Add as much texture as you can. Also, use a bit of the clay to ensure the hair stays swept over. If you see any clumps, no worries; just crush them out with your fingers. And there you have it - looking pretty good!
Step 3: The Texture Powder
If you feel like you're still missing a little bit of texture, we have a secret weapon - the texture powder. Just a tiny bit will do. Distribute it evenly, scrunching it in as we've been doing. Same process, but this tiny addition will give your hair that extra oomph.
The Finished Look
Sean usually has pretty straight hair, but we've added a ton of texture, creating more movement and waves in the hair. It really ties this style together. That's what I like to hear! Now, if this tutorial was helpful, don't forget to leave a like. And if you want to try this hairstyle at home, you totally can.
